Our congregation formally adopted a resolution not to have marriage licenses signed on the church property or by the clergy. We do religious marriage ceremonies and couples must go to a judge or justice of the peace or city hall for the civil marriage.

Rev. Pamela Shepherd, Ashland, Oregon, UCC, First Congregational UCC
We stopped signing licenses last January and the community has been very supportive. Why help the state discriminate?
